Joint Sustainment Command Afghanistan's public affairs officeKANDAHAR AIRFIELD, Afghanistan, (7/20/09) - As combat missions increase in Afghanistan, a Maine Army National Guard battalion here is getting increasingly busy delivering supplies to forward operating bases under dangerous conditions.
Riding in mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicles, also known as MRAPs or "gun trucks," soldiers of the 286th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion escort Afghan army "jingle trucks" and military palletized load system trucks, all loaded down with U.S. military cargo. The convoys take the equipment to forward operating bases, sometimes through narrow city streets or in difficult terrain, always under the threat of enemy fire and facing the possibility of breakdowns or needing to take an alternate route....(Read more here)

Obama to Netanyahu: Jerusalem Must Be Divided Again!

From Monkey In The Middle:
During the campaign, then candidate Obama said the following at an address of AIPAC:Let me be clear. Israel's security is sacrosanct. It is non-negotiable. The Palestinians need a state that is contiguous and cohesive, and that allows them to prosper — but any agreement with the Palestinian people must preserve Israel's identity as a Jewish state, with secure, recognized and defensible borders. Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided. It seems that is another lie from this Master of Lies. For now it is US Policy to hand over to the Palestinians all of East Jerusalem, including one of the most holiest sites in Judaism: The Western Wall.
The United States State Department made it clear Tuesday that Jewish neighborhoods in eastern Jerusalem are “settlements,” which U.S. President Barack Obama has called “illegitimate."...
"Let me be clear. Israel's security is sacrosanct. It is non-negotiable"..
Yes! Yes, it is!
You know there is more. Go read it here.

"It will break him."
From Mitch Stewart, Obama.com
Organising for America
Last week, Republican Senator Jim DeMint made it pretty clear why the opponents of health care reform are fighting so hard. As he told a special interest attack group, "If we're able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him." Here's how the President responded:Think about that. This isn't about me. This isn't about politics. This is about a health care system that is breaking America's families, breaking America's businesses and breaking America's economy. And we can't afford the politics of delay and defeat when it comes to health care. Not this time, not now. There are too many lives and livelihoods at stake.
With Congress only days away from finalizing their plans for reform, it's time to stand up with the President and fight back against this disastrous brand of old-style politics. So we need as many people as possible to publicly support the President's principles for health care reform and call on Congress to act.
Before the first full votes in Congress, we'll publish the signatures in newspaper ads across the nation, to make sure your voice is heard.
Watch President Obama's full response, then add your name in support of reform. Or if you've already signed, please forward this message to every one of your friends and neighbors so they can join you.
The President is more dedicated than ever to passing health care reform that satisfies the three requirements he's been talking about for months: Health care reform must reduce costs, guarantee choice -- including the choice of a strong public insurance option -- and ensure all Americans have quality, affordable health care.
If we do not reform our broken health care system this year, we will only shackle future generations with spiraling costs and deteriorating care. The cost of inaction is simply more than this country can afford.
But the special interests who profit from the status quo won't go down without a fight. The ads, the smears, and the attacks -- targeting both President Obama and members of Congress who support reform -- will only get worse. So it's crucial that we show huge backing before Congress finalizes their plans this month.
Stand with President Obama on health care reform:

Thanks for standing up for change.

And from my other address:
From: "David Axelrod, The White House" [My imaginary friend...lol]
The White House, Washington
Dear Friend,
Last night, President Obama addressed the nation in a primetime press conference about health insurance reform.
The President made crystal clear what's at stake in this debate: the fiscal well-being of our nation and the health of our families and small businesses.
In case you missed it, take a look at what he had to say:
Presidents Press Conference
Truth be told — with each passing day, more and more Americans are unable to get the health care they need, when they need it. Skyrocketing co-pays and deductibles and soaring insurance premiums are crushing our family budgets and small businesses. Unless we act now, these problems are guaranteed to get worse and worse.
Under reform, American families will get the stability and security they deserve. They'll no longer have to fear losing health care coverage if they lose or switch jobs, going bankrupt if they become seriously ill, or being denied coverage because of a pre-existing medical condition. Reform will ensure all Americans have access to quality, affordable insurance.
We all have a stake in this and for the 14,000 Americans who are losing their health insurance each day — reform can't wait.
Thank you,
David Axelrod
P.S. Health insurance reform is a complex issue and many of you have questions about what it means for you and your family. To help get you the answers you need, White House Health Reform Director, Nancy-Ann DeParle, is holding a live video chat through Facebook and WhiteHouse.gov. Join the chat today at 3pm ET.

Barack Obama on health care: "Let me be clear..."
No, I didn't watch, but I did find this (here):
Question: What does "incentisize" mean? He said that. I have no idea how you spell it, because it is NOT a real word! Trust me on that.
In just this clip alone, he is accusing doctors of doing unnecessary surgeries ("I make more money is I take this kid's tonsils out"... direct quote) He is insulting to all doctors when he says "maybe they[kid complaining of sore throats] have allergies." Let ME be clear: I am not a doctor, but I would - and have - trusted doctors to make decisions based "on what's best for patient care".. To listen to even this short clip, is to hear BO saying that doctors need regulations to make sure they are not merely $$ driven. I don't know which doctors he has consulted with, but NO doctor I have ever known, has put their own financial gain before my health, or my family's health.
AND... in typical BO fashion, he waffles/rambles until 1:28 on the video before he says: " to answer your question..."
I am not sure what this man needs, (I'll leave that to Americans to decide), but one thing for sure he does need:
A dictionary. STAT!
Oh, and to quote a friend of mine - yes, an American - in response to an email I wrote her:
Sounds to me as if somebody has read the bill - unlike BO, who on earlier questioning (yesterday, I believe) said that he was "not familiar with that part of the bill."
Over the years, I have been given two great pieces of advice that I offer to Mr. President:
1) Do your homework
2) Read everything.
This brat humbly suggests that if Mr Obama followed just these two things, he would know what he was talking about, and not have to make words up on the fly. If he took to heart what two wise people told me, he might pause before he yells for more prime time television, and ramble his usual inarticulate drivel to Americans. If the President of the USA did actually read every single page of these mammoth tomes, he and he cohorts are determined to foist on the people of America, he may well reconsider the implications of his obscene rush to "change" the face of America, just because he can (or thinks he can.)
He may.

*If you already have health insurance*: reform will provide you with more
security and stability. It will limit your own out of pocket costs and prevent
your insurance company from dropping your coverage if you get too sick. You'll
also have affordable insurance options if you lose or change your job. And it
will cover preventive care like check-ups and mammograms that save lives and money.
this is an out right lie!! See page 16 of the bill!!!!
