DoD Announces Recruiting and Retention Numbers for April 2009
The Department of Defense announced today its recruiting and retention statistics for the active and reserve components for the month of April.
· Active Component.
· Recruiting. All four active services met or exceeded their recruiting goals for April.
· Army – 3,995 accessions with a goal of 3,900; 102 percent
· Navy – 2,719 accessions with a goal of 2,719; 100 percent
· Marine Corps – 1,666 accessions with a goal of 1,018; 164 percent
· Air Force – 2,162 accessions with a goal of 2,157; 100 percent
· Retention. All four active services continued their success in fiscal 2009, meeting or exceeding April retention goals.
· Reserve Component.
· Accessions. All six reserve components met or exceeded their accession goals for the month of April 2009.
· Army National Guard – 4,474 accessions with a goal of 4,029; 111 percent
· Army Reserve – 3,425 accessions with a goal of 3,333; 103 percent
· Navy Reserve – 611 accessions with a goal of 611; 100 percent
· Marine Corps Reserve – 422 accessions with a goal of 422; 100 percent
· Air National Guard – 870 accessions with a goal of 860; 101 percent
· Air Force Reserve – 786 accessions with a goal of 783; 100 percent
