Good question: Should you trust a government....?

From Canada Free Press comes this one:

The Government Can’t Even Spell ‘Health’ Right

By Matthew Vadum Sunday, June 28, 2009

It appears the U.S. government can’t even spell health correctly, as shown in the below screen grab from government propaganda website HealthReform.gov. ("The Heallth Care Status Quo: Why America Needs Health Reform")

Should you trust the government to properly manage something it --with literally trillions of dollars at its disposal to hire writers and editors-- can’t even spell right?

Go over and check it out here. My answer, of course, is NO! You should not trust this government. Mind boggling.

Turn OFF the TV: Yes, you can!

As the All Barack Channel prepares to give BO yet another looooong (freebie, no doubt) commercial tonight, Canada Free Press has some thoughts:

Obama Reality Show coincides with the Death of Journalism, starring ABC

Those Dufus Television Commercials

By Judi McLeod Wednesday, June 24, 2009

imageThe best thing about President Barack Obama and the First Lady starring in their own political coup in tonight’ first state-run television presentation from the White House is you don’t have to watch it.

In a broadcast that could easily be entitled “Street Organizers Out of the Windy City Make Good”, Obama will do his made-for-TV savior of America’s health system gig with or without his Teleprompter.

Scheduled for 10 p.m., the Obama Reality Show coincides with the Death of Journalism, starring ABC. At least it wasn’t kept for the witching hour.

If you think there is something wrong with a national television network giving Obama an unchallenged infomercial, you are probably right wing, or an advocate of conspiracy theories with far too much imagination.

ABC News President David Westin, is here to tell you that it’s all above board and journalism’s finest hour.

You think that ABC moving its equipment right into the White House is not fair journalism?

Westin promises the exclusive will be “a thoughtful, respectful, and probing discussion of some of the issues raised by the calls for health-care reform”.

“We will include a variety of perspectives coming from private individuals asking the President questions and taking issue with him, as they see fit,” Westin said.

“Sadly, some inside government and within the private sector see every issue as material for a sort of political high theatre, to be used to gain votes or energize political bases or simply to raise funds. I would have thought that a subject as important as the health care received by the American people would rise above this sorry spectacle. Our citizens need and deserve more. We are proud to be making a serious effort to go beyond mere punditry or stylized, bipolar debate; we are proud to work for a network and a company willing to devote valuable airtime to serious consideration of a subject so worthy.”...

Uhuh, I am not kidding! Your "Prime Time President" is still campaigning, but you CAN turn the television off. Yes, you can! The on/off switch on your tv is probably the cheapest healthcare measure Americans can take today.

A promise is a promise

We all know that during last year's election campaign, BO said anything - promised ANYthing - to ensure his installation at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I really don't think I need to reiterate all the consequences of some of his more outrageous rhetoric. However, over at Canada Free Press, William Kevin Stoos has decided to 'help' BO as he writes to the families of our fallen:

My Sincerest Regrets on the Death of Your Son, by Barack Obama

Re: The Death of Your Son, Private Jones

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Jones:

As President of the United States, the hardest thing I have to do is send young men and women into combat. Tragically, some die defending our freedoms. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son in Afghanistan.

Having never served in the military, knowing nothing about the military, being a rather naive lawyer and community organizer, and having two daughters who I will never send into harm’s way, I cannot imagine how hard it is to lose a brave Marine like your son. Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss and be assured our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Perhaps the most tragic of all is the fact that he was shot and killed by Mohammed Bin Bomben-- an honor graduate of our “Adopt a Jihadist Program” (See: Obama’s “Adopt-A-Jihadist” Program for Gitmo Prisoners) which you may have read about. Bin Bomben was himself killed in the firefight and we were not only saddened by the loss of your son but also greatly disappointed that Bin Bomben returned to the battlefield after being rehabilitated in Saudi Arabia. Although he promised he would never return to the battlefield and kill American troops, it seems he broke his promise to us and did just that. Sadly, his release from Guantanamo resulted in the loss of your son. We are deeply sorry about this....

You KNOW there is more. Read it here, and weep.

What if we won the war and nobody knew?

Sounds absurd doesn't it? However, if you only rely on the mainstream media, you could *maybe* be forgiven for not knowing that we DID in fact win the Iraq area of the current Global War on Terror. Those of us out here who bother to inform ourselves - to listen and to read - already know that part of the war is won. I found an interesting column by Nancy Morgan. She not only calls the msm on their deliberate choice not to report the victory, but also talks of the media's omission in reporting on other critical issues affecting us all:

Media malfeasance

Our Dangerous Media

By Nancy Morgan Tuesday, December 30, 2008

What would happen if America won a war and no one reported it? Is it still news? What if a credible argument were made pretty much demolishing Darwin’s theory of evolution? If no media outlet conveyed this information to the American public, does that mean its not a valid argument? Does that mean its not news?

The liberal media would have you believe so. For decades, the old media, consisting of the big three networks and the newspapers of most major cities have had a stranglehold on what information gets disseminated to the public at large. The media elite have decided which issues qualify as news. Not surprisingly, the majority of the information that makes it to the airwaves or in print is overwhelmingly one-sided, reflecting a world-view steeped in progressive values and blatantly hostile to traditional values.

The old media elite, comprised of less than 1% of our population, has set the agenda and defined the issues in America for decades. More importantly, the old media has had the ability to relegate any facts that didn’t conform to their version of reality to the ash heap. If it doesn’t make the news, its not news. ...(Go, read the rest at Canada Free Press here)

Reminds me of a comment I often make: 'If I wasn't there reporting it, it didn't happen.' I have sometimes said that is jest, but it really IS true. Pay attention to what is NOT being reported.
