Anti-Israeli protesters prove how smart they are - NOT!

It appears that some American anti-Israeli protesters are short a few brain cells, or reading skills, or something:

Tried to Boycott Israeli Ship, Blocked Chinese Ship Instead

Some 500 anti-Israel protestors arrived at the Oakland, California port early Sunday morning, hoping to block an Israeli ship from unloading its cargo. However, the ship did not arrive, and the crowd prevented workers from unloading a Chinese ship instead.

The protestors say they were protesting the recent Israel-Turkey flotilla incident, though they displayed great ignorance about what actually happened; one of them even compared barely armed Israeli Defense Forces troops with Somali pirates.

“My grandmother's Jewish. I'm not anti-Semitic," protestor Frank McClain told a local Oakland newspaper. "But what Israel's doing is murdering people. They staged a raid in international waters. If Somalis had done that, they'd be called pirates and we'd have punished and stopped them immediately.”

In fact, as videotapes have shown, Israeli soldiers warned the ships well in advance not to enter the waters under legitimate Israeli blockade; boarded the ship armed only with paintball guns and pistols in case of need; and were set upon and attacked as they rappelled down by lynch mobs armed with iron clubs, knives, and even their own pistols that the attackers took from them. Several of the soldiers were held captive for a while below deck. Ultimately, the Israelis were able to regroup, defend themselves, ward off the terrorist activists, tend to their wounded, and gain control of the boat that had been set on a near act-of-war course.

Nearly all of the nine dead were identified as members of Turkish Islamist organizations, most of them of a radical and anti-Western nature. Four of them had previously declared their wish to die as martyrs.

"Free, free Palestine! Don't cross the picket line!" the picketers shouted – and in fact, the longshoremen chose not to clash with them, for fear of “getting into fistfights,” a union leader said. No one was arrested.

The Israeli ship arrived only at 6 PM, more than 12 hours after the protestors, but by that time most of the latter had left. The local union decided not to order night shift workers to unload the Israeli ship, and it will be unloaded sometime on Monday. A Foreign Ministry official told Israel National News that the general practice is that ships that arrive towards evening are unloaded the next day, "such that the protestors did not actually accomplish much other than to block a Chinese ship... The police are planning to be on hand on Monday to ensure that all goes smoothly."

The Picture, Not the Facts
Asked about the fact that the anti-Israel protestors actually blocked a Chinese ship and not an Israeli ship, Israel’s Consul-General in San Francisco, Akiva Tor, said, “The protestors were basically interested in painting a certain picture, and they don’t generally get down to the exact facts…” [emphasis mine]

Proving the extent of this phenomenon, protest organizer Richard Becker actually said, "This is the first time [that] an Israeli ship was blocked from unloading in a U.S. port… We consider this to be a huge victory and a historic moment.”

Two pro-Israel protestors arrived on the scene in mid-protest, ensuring that not only pro-Arab scenes would be broadcast. "Israel is a democracy, just like America, and Israel is faced with a fight for its life," said Faith Metzer of El Cerrito. A third pro-Israel man arrived a bit later, after he saw the protest on television. (IsraelNationalNews.com)

Really? Okay, then! Got to love the California education system.

An Israeli cargo ship arriving in Oakland today was forced to sit idle and not offload its containers when longshoremen joined forces with a coalition of communist and Islamist groups who picketed the port in protest against the recent violent incident off the coast of Gaza. The ship, owned by Zim Lines, was not carrying any controversial cargo, nor is Zim involved in politics in any way; it was targeted simply because the shipping company is based in Israel. While the politicians and activists in Washington, DC and throughout the nation condemn the Arizona immigration enforcement law (SB1070), the news media has failed to cover the reaction of the people who patrol U.S. borders on a daily basis.

"We are receiving reports today that Eric Holder and DOJ have signaled that they are likely to challenge SB1070 [Arizona immigration law]. If this development wasn't so sad, it would be funny," according to the membership of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2544, which represents U.S. Border Patrol agents in Tucson, Arizona.

While lamenting the disinterest in the Obama Administration

for border security and immigration enforcement, Local 2544 officials said,"Now, [Attorney General Eric] Holder and DOJ [Department of Justice] apparently have found resources to challenge SB1070. This is an obvious political ploy, and Americans should be outraged if they actually go after a state for trying to do something about the out-of-control illegal immigration mess."

"How many times have Americans heard lawmakers, mayors, governors, and immigration advocates when asked about Arizona enforcing immigration law, claim that their police officers aren't authorized or trained to enforce immigration laws?" asks a career law enforcement officer from New York.

"Well, either these government leaders are too ignorant to to hold office or they're out-and-out lying to the American people," said former NYPD detective Sid Franes....

When it comes to Iran, it is important for one to understand many things, especially considering the events of the last few months. I always think that nobody will know what our people – especially women – have gone through here in Tehran, the heart of Iran.

The bitterest reality is the presence of the mullahs who have imposed their rules on us. I was lucky to see a few years less of the misery these mullahs have brought for us because I was born a few years after the beginning of their rule!

Iran has attracted the attention of the world after the righteous uprising of its people for freedom and democracy; the decisive right of the people.

What is most outstanding in this uprising is the presence of the women of my homeland – the uprising that introduced the innocence of Iranians, especially Iranian women, to the world by the name of Neda (Neda Aghasultan) and the last scenes of her life in this world.

Though my friends and I had gone to her grave for several times and cried over it, we still feel national pride for introducing such a symbol to the world because all of us, the Iranian women, are all a “Neda.”

You know that you are living under the rule of the mullahs if you [cannot] walk in the streets of Tehran the way you wish to walk. When you step outside of your home, you are forced to be something else. The eyes of these criminals watch you everywhere, watch all your moves, controlling everything from the way you dress to a sudden smile that forms on your lips. Your presence is like a dagger landing in their dirty minds; they cannot bear the free presence of even one woman on the street.

Before the years when I attended university, they only controlled the color of my dress, an extra band of my hair coming out of the compulsory veil and the length of my dress. Yet now they control everything – most of all, they wish to control my thoughts!...

Surely I am not the only reader of this gut-wrenching piece who sees the irony here? While the pampered women of the west celebrate International Women's Day, women like Sara here, and Neda; the women of Afghanistan; they ask if we will forget them and their plight. Young girls under the boots of barbaric regimes of the world who suffer horrific rituals; women regularly subjected to rape as a weapon of war; denied a decent education, where are the cries of outrage from the rest of the world?

I hear no raising of voices from the educated, 'enlightened' women of the west? Do they speak up for their sisters who can only dream of the luxury of freedom that we in the west take so much for granted?

The silence from the west in defence of - in solidarity with - these women is deafening.The Neda's of our world deserve so much better, and we say nothing, we do nothing. Nothing.

"And when they came for me, there was no-one left to speak."

Something Terrible Has Happened to Michael

Imagine that you’ve learned in your local newspaper and on TV that a serial murderer is stalking and killing people in your community. Anxious and concerned for the safety of your family, you buy a gun.

Then your worst nightmare happens. Lying in bed and drifting off to sleep, you hear a loud sound downstairs – the unmistakable explosion of your front door being battered down and the menacing footsteps of an intruder climbing the stairs to your bedroom. You cock your already-loaded gun, and when the thug lunges at you, you shoot.

Now dead, he is positively identified as the man who murdered the other people in your town… and you are hailed as a hero.

You don’t consider yourself a hero at all, but simply a regular citizen protecting his family. When polls are taken about what you did, 90 percent of people say they would have done the same thing, six percent say they would have “reasoned” with the intruder, and another four percent said, “I don’t know.”

Theory vs. Reality

The contempt liberals and leftists have for physical self-defense is wedded to their rigid obeisance to non-violence. Last December, when my next-door-neighbor’s 48-year-daughter and mother of three was gunned down in her own home in Missouri by two teenagers, her Leftist parents thought the solution to this kind of violence was gun control. When I told them that I wished their daughter had had a gun and “blown those thugs away,” they said – in defense of their indefensible position – that “she couldn’t have gotten a gun out fast enough.” Huh?

But theory has no place in the real world of American soldiers who have volunteered to protect and defend our country and are faced not with neighborhood thugs but with al Qaeda terrorists who have told the entire world that their Number One mission is to kill all the “infidels” – particularly Americans – who disagree with their Islamist agenda of establishing a Muslim-driven Caliphate of Islamic “law” in the Western world...."


To follow this story is to really wonder WTH is going on. To see how the trial was conducted, and how this hero's rights were trampled and ignored, is a damning indictment of the very country 1Lt Behenna swore an oath to protect. It really IS an obscenity. Family Security Matters has this excellent write up on this gross miscarriage of justice of yet another of America's finest.

They end with:
