Since 9/11, the families and survivors have been patiently waiting for justice. As the GITMO Military Commission slowly exercises due diligence in their attempts to make the terrorists accountable, there have also been efforts to make the Saudis pay for their alleged role in financing that atrocity. Through the years, despite vociferous claims of innocence by the Saudis, lawsuits have made their way through various levels of the US justice system claiming their duplicity.
Last July, US Supreme Court finally agreed to hear a suit brought by the victims.
The U.S. Supreme Court gave the go-ahead Monday to a lawsuit by victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks against the government of Saudi Arabia, alleging it indirectly financed al-Qaeda in the years before the hijackings.
The justices declined to hear an appeal by the Saudi government of a lower-court ruling that the lawsuit could go forward. The high court also declined to hear a separate appeal by 9/11 victims of a lower-court decision preventing them from suing dozens of banks and individuals that allegedly provided financial assistance to the hijackers.
"From our perspective, we are looking forward to having the opportunity to finally conduct an inquiry into the financing of the Sept. 11 attacks," said Sean Carter, a partner at the Center City law firm Cozen O'Connor, one of the firms involved in the litigation against the kingdom.
Saudi Arabia has long denied responsibility for the attacks and pointed to a finding by the 9/11 Commission that it had found no evidence that the Saudi government "as an institution" had involvement.
But the issue has refused to go away....

Now comes these latest claims by Zacarias Moussaoui. Moussaoui is, of course, the convicted al Qaeda terrorist serving a life sentence.
These claims by this terrorist are not new, even as it is only in the last days that the NY Post is now reporting these assertions. Yesterday, the NY Post had this:

Moussaoui, who is serving a life sentence in a maximum-security prison, gave the detailed account of alleged Saudi involvement in testimony in a lawsuit brought against the oil-rich nation by relatives of 9/11 victims, according to newly released court documents.
The terror thug wrote a letter to the judge presiding over the case, asking to testify against the Saudi kingdom, and was finally interviewed in prison last October after a negotiation.
He said he discussed a plan with the Saudis to use a Stinger missile to assassinate the president aboard Air Force One.
“I know that they had Stinger,” he said. “And he — we talk about the feasibility of — of shooting Air Force One.”
Moussaoui admitted acting as a courier for Osama bin Laden and said he personally met with Saudi royals to discuss funding for jihad....

Of course, it would be easy to dismiss any claim to credibility by ANY terrorist, but this report may be seen to add weight to the issue that will not fade away.
