I notice that the label for this post is, "Always Remember Mike Stokely." I will remember Mike because of the loving tributes that you and his father have written about this outstanding young hero. Bless this young man who served and this family who still serves.

We remember and honor Mike.

Mike will always be remembered, as will be your brave family. All the males in my family served. Dad was the only one injured. We got off lucky.

God bless your family!

Thank you for sharing Mike with us. Mike will not be forgotten as long as we remember Robert's words that he shared on a previous post:

Remember with honor.

Make it matter!

Those words have helped me with my first anniversary, which is coming up on September 23. My Vietnam combat vet husband died on that day, a result of his service in Vietnam.

We honor Mike today and every day. And his service did matter!

Rest in Peace, Mike. I know you are in good company...

Robert, I met you in Pasadena and have admired your courage and dignity in the face of your loss. You and your family and, of course, Mike, are remembered in my prayers and the prayers of many others, I am sure.

Thank you for your courage and thank you for raising a son who willing took up the defense of our nation so we may enjoy its many freedoms every day.

Peace to you,

Mike is not forgotten.

Our nation is fortunate to have such patriots as Mike and we mourn his loss, at such a young age; but his service and sacrifice has done more than most of us will ever achieve in our lifetimes on behalf of our country and for the betterment of this world.

God bless Mike Stokely's family. A grateful nation stands and mourns with them, always and forever. Their loss is our loss.

Mike Stokley is remembered, not only today, on the anniversary of his death, but every other day as well. He made the ultimate sacrifice, not only for those of us in the U.S.A. but also for the people in Iraq, who now have a taste of freedom such as what we experience here on a day to day basis. Those freedoms are not free and we will never take them for granted, as we will never take the life of Mike Stokley for grnted. He IS a Hero and we will forever honor him.

Time does not change the emptiness a family feels when they lose a loved one. Sgt. Stokely gave his all in defense of a Nation, and of A World. I pray, that the collective love, admiration, and respect that an entire Nation feels for him, will somehow at least give you some peace to help with that emptiness. We have promised that no soldier will go unloved, and we further commit that no fallen will ever be forgotten.
Sgt. Stokely forever in our hearts.
