Published : Tuesday, 01 Mar 2011, 10:17 PM ESTLAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Paige Bowman didn't know what to expect when the phone rang Monday morning. She knows the sound can signal a call from her husband serving overseas, or trouble.
"He says your husband was severely injured in an IED (improvised explosive device) explosion in Afghanistan," Paige Bowman said.
23-year-old Marine Cpl. Matt Bowman left in August to help flood victims in Pakistan, but was then sent to Africa, and on to Kuwait. At the end of December, he went to Afghanistan. Now, Bowman is in intensive care at a Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
His wife said it's hard not being with him as he recovers. The family said his injuries are critical, but does not want to go into detail about them.
"I want to know he is here so I can go see him, where he is and how he is doing all the time, not just what I get in a phone call," Paige Bowman said....

Our heroes and their families do so much for us. Now it is our turn to do what we can for this family. If you believe in prayer, please lift Matt, Paige, and their little children up in your prayers. Also take note of the vigil time and place if you are in their neighbourhood. If you don't pray, please send good thoughts their way. About now, they could use them.
Thank you for your service, Matt and Paige.
