An independent report has outlined possible changes to UK pensions, which could have a large impact on military pensions. Lord Hutton's report for the Pensions Commission suggests that people should work longer, contribute more towards their final pension and retire later in life. Currently a majority of forces personnel retire at the age of 55 or after 22 years of service, which is when they are entitled to start receiving their pension
