Ottawa native honored for legal service to military families

Ottawa native Janice L. Boback, a partner in Anderson & Boback, Chicago, is being recognized by the Illinois State Bar Association for her pro bono work, helping members of the military and their families with legal issues.
She is among 10 lawyers statewide designated for that honor, according to ISBA President Mark D. Hassakis, who launched the ISBA Lawyers Care Program as part of his presidential term to salute ISBA members who have made a difference in their communities.
Boback and the other recipients will receive a plaque at the ISBA's annual meeting in June and be included in a statewide print advertising campaign.
Boback, whose maiden name was Waters, is a 1979 graduate of Ottawa Township High School and a former associate in the legal firm of Hupp, Lanuti, Irion, & Burton of Ottawa. Boback still has family in the immediate area and often practices law in La Salle County courts. She concentrates in domestic relations.
