Lest We Forget!

World War 2 brought to the eyes of mankind many man made horrors. The Concentration Camps and Gas Chambers of Auschwitz, Treblinka, Sobibor, and others. Mass murder on an industrial scale by a nation gone berserk. For this we cry: "NEVER AGAIN!" The victims of the Nazi holocaust were innocent men, women and children. Their only "crime" was being born to the "wrong" religion or race.

The world wants us to forget, but we will not let them.

There was another man made horror to occur during World War 2. Many of the victims were civilians, but the government that they believed in was not innocent of horrors itself. The infamous Unit 731 performed experiments on human subjects that went further than the horrors Dr. Mengele did at Auschwitz. From the gassing of civilian populations in China and other occupied countries, the systematic raping of the female population of the occupied countries, the use of slave labor, the mistreatment of Allied POW's (A direct violation of the Geneva Conventions of War.), and the systematic (but not industrial) mass murder of millions of Chinese, Indonesians, Philippians, and Indigenous Peoples of many lands and island. Yet on this day the people of Japan cry that they are victims of the worst horror in the world.

On this day 66 years ago, a weapon equaling 12.5 KT of TNT exploded 1,968 feet over the Shima Hospital in Hiroshima, Japan. 66,000 people were killed instantly with 69,000 people injured to various degrees. By the end of the year between 100,000 and 200,000 had been killed by this one weapon. (The firebombing of Tokyo on March 9-10, 1945 killed 100,000 people in one night.)...
