Homecoming to celebrate

To mark the First Battalion the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment's return from an operational tour in both Iraq and Afghanistan, a homecoming parade was held through the streets of Guildford in Surrey yesterday, Wednesday 15 July 2009. The majority of the Battalion served in Iraq but one of its companies was deployed to Afghanistan on Operation HERRICK 9. The 1st Battalion (1 PWRR) is an armoured infantry battalion, known as the Armoured Tigers and is made up of three Warrior companies, a Fire Support Company and Headquarters Company [Picture: Corporal Ian Forsyth RLC, Crown Copyright/MOD 2009] (DoD here)

WELCOME HOME, and THANK YOU all...

Great Blog, very emotive and powerful stuff in it.I agree totally with the comments about the imbalance of praise/thanks and adoration that is shown to so many "celebs" whilst young soldiers are dying for a cause that has so much importance.Keep up the great work.Andy
