BritishForcesNews on Feb 28, 2012The Ministry of Defence is being told it is still not doing enough to support severely injured personnel and their families despite being urged to by a committee of MPs. The Commons Defence Committee says it is disappointed with the Government's response to its recommendations on military casualties and says it is surprised the MOD is not prepared to review the support offered to their families. Chairman James Arbuthnot says they remain concerned about the long-term support of people once they leave the forces, in particular those with traumatic brain injuries. The committee reiterates its view that the MOD must look at the support it provides families and must, at a bare miniumum, look at what it is doing to support the children of injured personnel.
