Video: UK 10 years of operations in Afghanistan

A new video made by the Ministry of Defence from footage from the last ten years tells the history of operations in Afghanistan and explains why we are there, what progress has been made, and how British service personnel are preparing to hand over control to the Afghans in 2015.

Ten years ago, British service personnel first went into Afghanistan as part of what was then called Operation Enduring Freedom. The new video starts with the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001 and takes viewers up to the present day, looking towards 2015 when the UK will no longer be involved in combat operations.

There are folks here in Kabul from all over the Commonwealth -- Brits, Ozzies, Kiwis, and Canuckistanis (who are sorely tried by the DFAC's refusal to supply anything other than generic "Pancake and/or Waffle Syrup" at brekkies)...

Youch! Should I be calling the UN and lodging a formal complaint of abuse by pancake and syrup?

Merry Christmas from Bratville Bill... Stay safe out there.

Thank YOU for your service!
